Goa Beaches CarnivalGoa Carnival is very famous and is celebrated with much colour and fanfare. It is an eagerly awaited event of Goa and tiourist throng Goa in February when this carnival is held. For three days and nights the streets come alive with the vigour of performing artists of Goa. The goa carnival consists of processions, floats, bands with guitars, grand dances and non-stop festivity.

The carnival is a feasting-drinking-merrymaking orgy just before the 40 days fasting during Lent. Huge parades are organized at night on the streets, and grand balls are held in the evenings. The carnival concludes with the famous red-and-black dance held by the Club National in Panajim on the final day.

Goa Beaches CarnivalFor some of you who may have images of the grand Brazilian Carnival and what you have seen in movies, do remember that Goa is natural and grounded. DO not expect expensive floats and five start facilities at the vent. It’s almost rustic and what was super grand in days of yore may not appear so to people used to the five star culture. No AC here to protect you from the heat, so dress easy and go with friends who believe in fun the natural way. The people of Goa are simple and you must only expect simplicity here. Goa is more natural and less urban and it goes to the credit of the Goa government that it has managed to maintain the essence of Goa. Goa is a place to experience natural things up close.
